Peace laureates to ride climate-neutral Scania buses Scania made an ethanol-powered bus available for transport services in conjunction with the Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony in Oslo on December 10, 2007. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former US Vice President Al Gore will thus have the opportunity to experience what will become a reality next year in the Norwegian capital, when Scania's third-generation ethanol buses go into scheduled service. Siemens launches 10 million U.S. dollars healthcare project in China Siemens has just launched a project to achieve sustainable improvements in healthcare in rural areas of China. The company will invest a total of US$10 million in the project over the next five years. The project is a Siemens contribution to the Clinton Global Initiative to support poorer regions in threshold countries. An agreement on the project was signed today by Siemens and the Shaanxi Bureau of Health. Zhang Huaixi, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Consultative Conference, Dr. Richard Hausmann, President and CEO of Siemens China, Dr. Siegfried Russwurm, member of the Executive Management of Siemens Medical Solutions, and Dr. Bernd Ohnesorge, President and CEO of Siemens China Medical Solutions, all took part in the signing ceremony held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Ralf Zacherl creates children’s menus for Lufthansa Martians and butterflies in the aircraft cabin? Unusual maybe but not for Lufthansa – TV chef Ralf Zacherl will be presenting these and similar imaginative culinary creations in the children’s inflight menu from May. The martians have a face made of mousse and strawberry purée. Chocolate buttons form the eyes, two liquorice sticks the aerials. The “sweet butterfly“ is a pancake with curd cheese filling and vanilla sauce.Alongside the sweets, the chef of TV fame has come up with appetising main dishes specially suited to young tastes and adventurously named, such as ”snake noodles in a tomato jungle” – but none other than spaghetti in tomato sauce with peas, maize and vegetables.
